Colombia

After many years during which security problems deterred most birders from visiting Colombia the situation there is now much improved. We went in 2009 and again in 2011 to see for ourselves how good and safe the country is and had no hesitation in making arrangements for birdwatching tours there in September 2012 and January 2013. Further tours have since been arranged and we see Colombia as a regular destination in future Avian Adventures tour programmes.

We have chosen to work with the Colombian bird conservation organization ProAves and visit several of their bird reserves in the Magdalena Valley, ending up at the spectacular El Dorado reserve which hosts no less than 19 endemic species, the majority of which of which are reasonably easy to see.

Our itinerary is relatively relaxed, and our group size small, allowing all our clients a chance to get to know the places we visit properly.

Please contact us to express an interest and to get further details - the only risk is...boosting your life list!
